Threeland Travel will share with you the summer tourist destinations in Myanmar that you cannot ignore in this article.

1. Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda – The Pagoda on The Sacred Rock

Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda, popular with the Golden Rock, is a strange arrangement of nature that, after thousands of years of precariousness, is still standing firmly. It is located on the top of Kyaikhtiyo mountain at an altitude of 1,100m above sea level, about 210 km from Yangon and not far from Kyaikhtiyo town in Thaton District, Mon State. People see this as a sacred relic and have constructed a gold tower on top of it. They have also lovingly gilded the entire stone, producing a one-of-a-kind structure that combines nature's beauties with man's creative hands.

A circular rock shaped like an egg, with a height of 7.3 meters and a circumference of 15.2 meters, lies perilously on the slopes of Kyaikhtiyo mountain. Residents erected the 5.5-meter-high Kyaikhtiyo pagoda on this rock, which is regarded as one of Myanmar's most famous old temples. Many people think that the Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda was erected during Buddha's lifetime, around 574 BC.

The term "Golden Stone'' comes from the fact that both the temple and the stone are coated in gold leaf. "Kyaik" means "temple", while "Htiyo'' means "carrying a monk's head." Since then, the name "Kyaikhtiyo '' means "the temple is erected on the head of the monk". Legend has it that when the Buddha came to lecture here, he handed monk Taik Tha a strand of his hair. The hair was hidden in the monk Taik Tha's head, which he later returned to the monarch with the hope that "the Buddha's hair shall be maintained in a stone fashioned like a monk's head."

The castle features 12 doorways that reflect the 12 zodiac signs. Each side of the wall contains three doors, each with an identical space between the door and the corners. It is claimed that the outer moat even included a system of spikes to trap adversaries in case of attack, which is a very clever design.

Going to Mandalay Palace, you may not only enjoy the distinctive building, which has Burmese traits from the previous century, but also the cool green gardens, entertainment playgrounds, and other incredibly intriguing features.
