Visa policy-new visa policy to promote international travel to Vietnam

Posted By : Threeland Travel / Visa, Flight To Vietnam & Indochina

In the first 4 months of this year, the number of international visitors to Vietnam reached nearly 50% of the whole year target. In April alone, Vietnam welcomed nearly 1 million international visitors. Tourism is being seen as an important growth engine in the context of many economic difficulties. To promote tourism, visa policy is considered an important lever.

Like many other Indians, earlier this year, Mr. Sagar and Mr. Amish's family chose Vietnam as a tourist destination, for many reasons.

India's Indianexpress.com page recently had an article, Vietnam is emerging as one of the favorite destinations of Indian tourists. Fast visa issuance is one of the main reasons.

According to this tourism enterprise, between 2022 and now is the time of explosive growth of international tourists to Vietnam.

In 2023, Vietnam's tourism industry aims to welcome 110 million tourists. Of which, international visitors alone have about 8 million arrivals, contributing 14-15 billion USD to the economy, helping to create 500-600 thousand new jobs. The realization of this goal is possible if there are effective policies to support the tourism industry.

In the Draft Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam (amended) which will be voted on by the National Assembly at the 5th session, the Ministry of Public Security is proposing to amend regulations to increase the duration of electronic visas from 30 days to 90 days, and at the same time increase the unilateral visa exemption period from 15 days to 30 days. These regulations, if approved, are expected to strongly boost the number of international visitors to Vietnam. Tourism is being considered as an economic sector that needs to be focused on supporting in the context that many other industries are facing difficulties due to unpredictable global fluctuations.
