It has been operating trans-Indochina routes since 2000 and 2006 respectively, connecting Hanoi (Vietnam) with Luang Prabang (Laos) and Siem Reap (Cambodia), two of the most famous cultural heritage sites in Southeast Asia.

These routes have attracted many tourists and business travelers who want to explore the rich history and culture of these countries. In 2019, Vietnam Airlines transported nearly 400,000 passengers on its trans-Indochina routes, demonstrating its strong presence and reputation in the market. Besides the Hanoi-Luang Prabang-Siem Reap route, Vietnam Airlines also operates another trans-Indochina route that links Hanoi, Vientiane (Laos), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), with a frequency of seven flights per week.

2. Vietnam Airlines Announces Flight Schedule and Details for Trans-Indochina Route

Vietnam Airlines has recently announced the flight schedule and details for its trans-Indochina route that connects Hanoi (Vietnam) with Luang Prabang (Laos) and Siem Reap (Cambodia). The route will resume operation from July 1, 2023, with a frequency of three flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The flights will be operated by Airbus A321 aircraft, which can accommodate up to 184 passengers in two classes: business and economy. 

The flight time from Hanoi to Luang Prabang is about one hour and 40 minutes, from Luang Prabang to Siem Reap is about one hour and 20 minutes, and from Siem Reap to Hanoi is about two hours. The airline plans to increase the frequency of this route to five flights per week as of October 30, 2023.

Additionally, the airline operates seven weekly flights on a trans-Indochina route connecting Hanoi, Vientiane (Laos), Phnom Penh (Cambodia tours), and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam).
