Phuket is one of the tropical islands of Thailand located in the Andaman Sea near the southwestern coast of Thailand. It is famous for its picturesque beaches including Patong Beach, Karon Beach, Kata Beach, and Surin Beach where visitors to relax in the sun, take a swim in the sea, or indulge in sea activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, or jet skiing.
Phuket's Old Town has a colonial architectural flair with some elements of Sino-Portuguese styles where tourists can find markets, cafes, and shops that suggest the spirit of this island. Famous destinations such as the Big Buddha, Wat Chalong temple, Promthep Cape viewpoint, the sunsets, and Phuket Aquarium, therefore, attract a large number of tourists. Island-hopping is a must-do on a vacation in Phuket and tourists can visit the Phi Phi Islands, Similan Islands, and Phang Nga Bay among others.
Patong Beach is the most famous hub of Phuket including many bars, nightclubs, and other entertainment places. Still, there are some areas designed for visitors who want to avoid loud and active spaces and enjoy calm environments. As for food, the island has plenty of Thai food available from street food stalls to restaurants, seafood, Thai curries, etc, and other local delicacies such as the Phuket Town Hokkien Noodles. There are numerous street food markets, and walking around them is quite an atmospheric experience.
