Travel Guide
Every visitor in Laos will quickly agree that this is a must to see in Laos. Being one of the capitals of ancient Laos, over time to time, Luang Prabang (or Muong Luang) - is an incredibly graceful boutique town, with authentic Laos spirit, traditional old houses, French-styled villas adjacent to lavish ancient temples and shrines. Luang Prabang is also a river-cross area, where you can witness many Boat races in high water time, visit gorgeous pagodas in the countryside, and wake up at five to see hundreds of Theravada Buddhist monks in their daily alms giving ritual.
Many young tourists also love to spend several days for biking around shadowed streets of Luang Prabang, where bikes do not need locks, and for visiting busy but peaceful markets full of goods, foods and tropical aroma, then going out of town to visit Asia Center of Elephants Feeding or deeping themselves in natural crystal pools. From Luang Prabang, you can also go up-north to the mountainous area to meet the minority ethnic people near Luang Nam Tha, enjoy elephant ridings, trek around tranquil villages with green gardens or go further to reach the Golden Triangle, now is an opium-free zone but still under the famous name at the bordergate of Laos, Thailand and Myanmar.
