We have just returned from a wonderful private tour of Vietnam and Cambodia arranged by Linda and her team at Threeland Travel. They were recommended to us by friends and they were fantastic!! Our itinerary, flights, hotels and many meals were all arranged by them all by e mail and the whole trip could not have gone better. We visited Hanoi, Hue, Ho-ian, Ho Chi Minh City, Phom Penh and Siem Riep. At each destination we were met by helpful and knowledgeable guides and drivers so the whole trip was stress free. The hotels and meals were excellent. We visited incredible places and have returned with wonderful memories. Thank you so much Threeland travel.

In researching our upcoming holiday to Vietnam/Cambodia we were recommended to contact Threeland Travel as they could arrange a private group tour - we weren't interested in joining a large organised tour group. Our contact Linda, following input from us as to where/what we wanted to do put together numerous draft itineraries until we decided on the final tour. Linda was so helpful & accommodating & gave valuable advice throughout. She arranged a private tour for 4 - our own guide, bus & driver for each area we went to. We were amazed at the level of service as well as the quality of the service we received from each guide/bus driver. They looked after us as though we were their family. There were times when we wanted to change our itinerary as we went on our travels - no problem to do this - the unexpected does happen such as illness, too tired, just want to relax. We traveled throughout Vietnam then the Mekong River cruise into Cambodia - not one hitch. Our guides even assisted us to check in for each internal flight. A level of service we didn't expect. We stayed 5 star the whole journey as the prices provided to us by Linda made it an affordable option. We have since priced similar organized tours to the same areas & the pricing has been double for most tours. We couldn't believe what we got for the price we paid. We had the most amazing holiday at nothing but the best accommodation with exceptional guides & drivers in very good small buses with air conditioning & plenty of bottled water. All we had to do was have a great time, shop & enjoy all the Vietnam & Cambodia had to offer. With a small group tour we missed the problems that come with a large tour - we encountered one such tour on the Mekong River Cruise - and so pleased that we went with Threeland travel. Thank you Linda & all involved in making our recent holiday one to remember. We are definitely going through them again to explore this fascinating area more thoroughly. Highly recommend them.

Why Cambodia Should Be on Your Southeast Asia Itinerary

From ancient temples to sandy shores, Cambodia offers U.S. travelers a rare mix of budget-friendly travel, rich culture, and exciting sights. Its mix of the old and new makes it a top spot for anyone seeking both adventure and authenticity.

Did You Know?

  • Cambodia tour packages often cost less than similar trips in Thailand or Vietnam.
  • Each year, over 2 million people travel to see Angkor Wat, making it one of the most popular UNESCO protected sites in the world.
  • Cambodia has 3 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
  • You can use two currencies in Cambodia. The U.S. Dollar and the Cambodian Riel. Most prices are quoted in USD!
  • Khmer is the official language of Cambodia.
  • Siem Reap was voted one of the top tourist destinations in Asia, thanks to its temples, markets, and culture.
  • The Tonle Sap Lake – the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia changes direction twice a year.
  • Chaul Chnam Thmey or the Cambodian New Year is celebrated in April and lasts for three full days.

Why Should You Travel to Cambodia from the USA?

With its ancient ruins and untouched landscapes, Cambodia is more than just a quick stop. It is a country that invites deeper travel and leaves a lasting impression, whether you are new to Southeast Asia or returning for more.

Is Cambodia Safe for Tourists in 2025?

Yes, Cambodia is safe for tourists to visit. You will find that the country is incredibly welcoming, and the friendly nature of the Cambodian people is one of its biggest highlights.

Overall, the atmosphere is relaxed and safe, especially in major tourist hubs like Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. However, like any travel destination, it is important to be smart and aware to ensure your trip is smooth and trouble-free.

Is Cambodia Worth the Long Flight?

Absolutely. Flights from the U.S. take around 20 to 24 hours, depending on the airline and the stopovers. What waits on the other side is pure adventure: less touristy crowds, lush landscapes, and a rich spiritual and cultural tapestry. You will experience a place that is completely different from busy Western life. With seamless tours to Cambodia from trusted travel companies, the experience is worth every hour.

We offer a variety of Cambodia tour packages designed to maximize your time, so you spend less time planning and more time experiencing.

Is Cambodia Budget-Friendly for U.S. Travelers?

Yes, Cambodia is remarkably affordable. The trip from the U.S. might cost more upfront, but once you're there, daily costs are quite low. It offers incredible value for U.S. visitors, with accommodations, local transport, and meals priced much lower than most comparable destinations. Since everything costs less, you can stay longer or do nicer things without spending too much money. It is great whether you are trying to save money or want luxury experiences without the high price.

Whether you travel as a couple, solo, or with family, you will find luxury and budget options that suit your style, making Cambodia consistently one of the most cost-effective choices in Southeast Asia.

What Makes Cambodia’s Culture and Landscapes So Unique?

With influences from Indian and Chinese civilizations, centuries of Khmer imperial glory, and a lasting Buddhist spirit, Cambodia offers a deeply layered cultural tapestry. Cambodia has a rich history, from the grand temples of the ancient Khmer Empire to the powerful stories of its more recent past. Its culture is full of life, with strong Buddhist traditions, beautiful art, and famous food known for its fresh and unique flavors.

American visitors are often amazed by how friendly the people are, the beauty of the Apsara dance, and the colorful Buddhist festivals. Each of these traditions tells a story that goes back a thousand years.

What to Know Before You Go: A Practical Guide for U.S. Citizens

Planning your Cambodia tour package is easy with the right preparation. Here is what every U.S. traveler should know for a stress-free trip.

Do U.S. Citizens Need a Visa for Cambodia?

Yes, you will need a visa for your Cambodia tour. Good news - it is super easy! You can apply online for an e-Visa before you travel, which can save you time upon arrival. Alternatively, you can get a visa on arrival at major airports. Visas are typically valid for 30 days, and processing is straightforward, just ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from the date you enter the country and has two blank pages.

How Do You Get to Cambodia from the U.S.?

There are no direct flights from the United States to Cambodia. However, reaching Cambodia from the U.S. is simple with one or two stopover flights, usually via key Asian hubs like Seoul, Bangkok, Tokyo, Ho Chi Minh City, or Singapore. Most major airlines serve these routes, making arrivals smooth for first-time and repeat visitors alike.

Major U.S. departure cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and New York offer the best connection options. Airlines like Korean Air, Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific, and Singapore Airlines provide reliable service with competitive pricing, especially when booked two to three months in advance.

You just need to book your flights and get your visa - Threeland Travel will be ready to take over as soon as you arrive, starting with a smile at the airport.
