The vital checklist:
Passport Validity
Your U.S. passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned entry date into Vietnam. Officials can deny entry if your passport is about to expire soon. We also advise having at least two blank pages for stamps.
A Vietnamese Visa
Unlike some other Southeast Asian countries, Vietnam does not offer a visa exemption for U.S. passport holders. You should have your visa before arrival. E-Visa is the simplest, most efficient, and most popular method for U.S. tourists to enjoy their vacation package to Vietnam.
