1. The 9th Hue Festival in 2023 with theme “Cultural Heritage: Integration and Development"

In response to Hue Festival 2023, the first event began on the night of March 26 with the Carnival "Tourism Colors" on Hai Ba Trung Pedestrian Street. This is the first activity in the Hue tourist sector's series of festivals and events in 2023.

This activity intends to generate a pleasant mood for tourism enterprises in Hue as they prepare for the summer tourist season, while also creating a media effect to attract travelers.

The event drew nearly 300 participants, including university students and artists from semi-professional and professional dance troupes, who dressed up and performed traditional costumes from Hue's source tourist markets, including Thailand, Japan, South Korea, French, Russian, and costumes from local ethnic groups in the province and other regions in Vietnam.

Following this festival, a series of activities will be planned to promote visitor demand in Hue as part of the Hue Festival 2023, including:

• The hot air balloon festival – with the theme “The Beauty of the Ancient Capital", as well as entertainment and culinary events, will take place from April 10 to 20 at Ham Nghi yard (23 Thang 8 Street) and the Sports Center of Thua Thien Hue Province (Ha Huy Tap Street).
• Hue Lotus Cuisine Festival 2023, Tu Tuong Park, Le Loi Street, Hue City, May 18-20.
• Hue HipHop Festival 2023 will take place on June 24-25 at Thuong Bac Park on Tran Hung Dao Street in Hue City.
• Hue Lion Festival 2023 will be held on September 16-17, 2023, at the Nghinh Luong Dinh yard on Le Duan Street in Hue City.
• Hue Healthcare Tourism Week, scheduled for November 2023, will take place in a variety of healthcare facilities and resorts around the province.
• Street Food Week - 2023, will be held from April 22 to 28, 2023 at the pedestrian street behind Azerai La Residence Hotel and Hue Academy of Music.

1.1. Hue International Hot-air Balloon Festival 2023

Time: April 10 - April 20 
Location: Ham Nghi Yard, Hue Citadel
Fee: 200,000 VND – 4 million VND per person

People and tourists to Hue may enjoy the hot air balloon festival, which takes place from April 10 to April 20.
The Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue province, in partnership with Hexa Company, organizes the "Beauty of the Ancient Capital" hot air balloon event. From April 10 to April 20, more than ten hot air balloons will perform, serving guests.

Hot air balloon rides over the city to see the dawn begin on April 10 at 6 a.m. Each journey takes 45 minutes and transports two to three passengers at an altitude of 300m to 500m; the ticket fee is 4 million VND per person. The trip, which is held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and soars for 5 minutes at an altitude of 30 to 50 m, is anchored in place at a cheaper fee of 200,000 VND. The organizers have not set an age limit, but there will be special instructions if visitors want to participate. 

Flight deployment is dependent on weather conditions to guarantee safety. If it is not safe to take off, the flight will be rescheduled. If the revised timetable does not work for the traveler, the organizers will reimburse the whole ticket price.

In addition to hot air ballooning, residents and guests may enjoy a ground-level entertainment complex with food booths, shopping, and games. Following the Hue hot air balloon festival, the organizers will have a hot air balloon festival at Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh) from April 25 to May 5. Visitors who missed the hot air balloon festival in Hue might register in Binh Dinh.

1.2. Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023

Time: April 28–May 5 
Location: Huong river area
Fee: free entry
From April 28 to May 5, the Hue Traditional Craft Festival will be held in Thua Thien-Hue Province, central Vietnam, with a large space featuring numerous activities and programs stretching along the two banks of the Huong (Perfume) River.
Following in the footsteps of previous editions, this year's event, titled 'Quintessence of Vietnamese Crafts,' will include art performances as well as displays of local and international handicrafts.
According to Vo Le Nhat, chairman of the Hue People's Committee, this year's festival will focus on introducing unique products of traditional crafts in Hue and other provinces and cities throughout Vietnam, as well as international craft work. Brocade weaving, silversmithing, embroidery, pottery, Ao Dai tailoring, copper casting, folk painting, lantern making, and cuisine are among them.

2. Danang International Fireworks Festival 2023 (DIFF 2023) 

Time: June 2–August 7
Location: Fireworks stage by the Han River 
Fee: 800.000 VND–3 million VND per person

Returning after three years of being affected by the epidemic, the Danang International Fireworks Festival 2023 (DIFF 2023) has the theme "World without Distance" - honoring the strong recovery of world tourism after the epidemic and DIFF 2023 in Da Nang.

The Han River port area is lit up with fireworks. The main stand and stage are located on Tran Hung Dao Street's sidewalk, opposite the shooting area on the platform of the previous DIFF stage.

In particular, the fireworks competition consists of 8 teams, including seven international teams: England, Italy, Poland, France, Australia, Canada, Finland, and the Vietnamese representative team from Da Nang, performing for five nights. Each team participates in the performance for about 20–22 minutes.

Specifically, the opening night (June 2) is a performance by two teams, Vietnam and Finland, with the theme "Peace of the World".
Night 2 (June 10): The Canada–France team will perform with the theme "Love without Distance".
Night 3 (June 17): Team Australia–Italy performed with the theme "Chasing Your Dreams".
Night 4 (June 24): A Polish–British team performed with the theme "Embracing Nature".
The finale took place on August 7th, with the theme "Light up borderless worlds".

Da Nang also organizes a series of companion events during DIFF 2023 to enhance the visitor experience. Famous Da Nang attractions such as Sun World Ba Na Hills, Asia Park, and others will host numerous festivals and music events.

DIFF 2019 created "Da Nang tourism fever" both at home and abroad the last time it was held, with nearly 1 million visitors to the city in more than a month of the festival.

This year is the 11th time DIFF has been held in Da Nang. During that journey, DIFF has become a highlight event, bringing the city of Han River into the center of festivals every summer. This is also one of the cultural events that create its brand for Danang and, at the same time, contribute to helping the city be honored twice as "Asia's leading festival-event destination", creating an image of dynamic Da Nang, a city of festivals that welcomes visitors throughout the four seasons.
