1.    Ta Nang – Phan Dung

Ta Nang - Phan Dung is known as the most beautiful trekking route in Vietnam, passing through three provinces: Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan. 

This route is more than 50km long, famous for its great wealth of flora and majestic natural landscape. Possessing the natural beauty, the difficulty of steep slopes, waterfalls, and hills, it attracts many backpackers who come to conquer.

To explore this trail, backpackers have to move from 1100m down to 500m above sea level, cross through streams and forests, climb passes. It is only 18km in length along the way, but because of the difficulty, it takes at least 3 days to win all. 

On the way, visitors will contemplate a wonderful panoramic view of the natural beauty from above in the fresh, cool air. The edge of Ta Nang forest cover has a rather flat topography with many low shrubs, immense grasslands, and green rice fields.

When is the best time to trek Ta Nang – Phan Dung?

Travelers could trek Ta Nang – Phan Dung in any season during the year. 

From June to February, it is the green-grass season in Ta Nang. During this time, the rain level rises, resulting in grass fields and plantations turning to a lush green color. The weather will be colder when it gets closer to the end of the year. 

The best time to trek Ta Nang Phan Dung is October to August as the rain season is over and the weather is mild, though the route could get greasy and muddy. Furthermore, the water level of the rivers and streams increases, hence you must travel with experienced people or local guides. 

The dry season starts from March to June, this is the burnt-grass season and usually gets hotter and sunny. At this time, grass fields get dried up, changing into a yellow-red color. The pros of traveling this time is that dry land making trekking easier. Especially during nighttime, the sky is very clear and travelers could observe the sky filled with stars.

In order to trek the safest way while contemplating the full beauty of the wild and majestic nature along with the Ta Nang - Phan Dung trail, you must: 

-    Health training before the trekking trip
-    Bring clothes, heating equipment, sleeping bags, Camping tent,…
-    Limit trekking in this area in the middle of the rainy season 
-    Do not cross river or waterfalls if not having skills or experiences, trekking under the guidance of porter

2.    Trek to Fansipan mountain peak - conquer “the roof of Indochina”

Fansipan Mount belongs to the majestic Hoang Lien Son mountain range, about 9km southwest of Sapa town, and is located between two provinces of Lao Cai - Lai Chau in the Northwest region of Vietnam. Lying on an altitude of 3,143m above sea level, the peak of Fansipan not only is the highest mountain in Vietnam but is also dubbed the "Roof of Indochina". Therefore, it is always a great desire that everyone wants to conquer and win.

One thing for sure: Fansipan is always beautiful, any time of the year you can do this trip. In each season, Fansipan has its own fascinating beauty. However, the most appropriate time for Fansipan trekking to conquer the “Roof of Indochina” is from September to the end of April of the following year, which is also the time of the season of Do Quyen flowers and ripe rice. During then, the best time should be October and November. This is the ideal time for tourists to immerse themselves in the sea of clouds

From September to April, the weather in the North of Vietnam does not rain often, hence, it is easier and safer to conquer Fansipan peak. From September to November, the temperature may fall between 3 and 4 degrees Celsius at night. From December to March, the temperature may drop to 0 degrees Celsius or lower with snowing.

Currently, there are 3 different routes to reach Fansipan Peak. Depending on the time, fitness, weather ... you can choose for yourself the most suitable routes.

The easiest route is Tram Ton, suitable for first-time trekking visitors, which allows you to reach the mount and return on the same trail. It may take up to 2 days of trekking. This road is relatively clear, simple, easy to go, but the landscape is not diverse, and various

Sin Chai - Tram Ton trekking route has a very beautiful landscape, extremely suitable for those who like adventure and discovery. You will pass through many hills with immense golden bamboos. The duration to finish a round trip of this trek route is 2-3 days, suitable for those who are physically fit and have a tight travel schedule.

Starting from Cat Cat village to the top of Fansipan is the longest and steepest route. Although it is the most difficult route, it is rated as the most interesting Fansipan climbing route. Because of the most diverse landscape and terrain, this route will be suitable for those who have the average time and health to climb about 8 hours per day.

3.    Pu Luong Nature Reserve

Pu Luong is situated in Ba Thuoc and Quan Hoa districts of Thanh Hoa province, about 130 km northwest of the city center. In the Thai language, Pu Luong means the highest peak of the village. It is about 1700 meters in height with various and diverse fauna and flora, Pu Luong impresses domestic and foreign tourists with its wild natural beauty and stunning rice terrace fields.

Some Pu Luong trekking routes that you can refer 

•    Going to Bam Village (about 2 hours to re-enter): This is a fairly close route, no need to go too far 
•    Walk around Don village to Ngon and Leo villages: Here you will have the opportunity to learn and experience the simple, rustic but still extremely unique culture of the daily life of the local people in the villages. 
•    Go to Uoi Village to Lan Village: This is a beautiful trekking route that you should try. Especially on this route, there is some stretch of road where you will climb hills and cross the forest which is suitable for those who love to explore the mountains and adventure.
•    Journey to the high mountain to Son - Ba - Muoi: If you choose to follow this route, you will have to go through Nua, Trinh, Hin, Bo villages along with steep, and difficult mountain roads to reach the destination.
