Cambodia visa requirements are clear and straight forward. Especially, it offers excellent visa on arrival policy to most nationalities in the world. Types of Cambodia visa

In recent years, the Cambodia visa policy has expanded, allowing visitors from most countries of the world to travel much easier. There are 2 categories of travel visas in Cambodia including by purpose visa and by method of issue visa.

By purpose, the visa has 5 types:

•    Transit visas: passengers who continue to fly by their recent airplane do not need a transit visa through Phnom Penh International Airport.
•    Short-stay or visitor visas: Private visa, Tourist visa, Visa for medical reasons, Business visa, Working holiday visa, Athletic or artistic visa, Cultural exchange visa, Refugee visa, Pilgrimage visa, Digital nomad visa.
•    Long-stay visas: Student visa, Research visa, Temporary worker visa, Journalist visa, Residence visa, Asylum visa
•    Immigrant visas: Spouse visa or partner visa, Marriage visa, Pensioner visa
•    Official visas: Diplomatic visas, Courtesy visas

By method of issue, Cambodia visa has 2 types:

•    Electronic visas (eVisa): Cambodia grants electronic visas to over 215 nationalities such as The United States, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, etc. 
•    On-arrival visas (VOA): Cambodia issues visas for most countries in the world except 10 countries need to obtain a visa from the Cambodia embassy including Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Sudan.

How to obtain a visa before a Cambodia tour?

Cambodia has different regulations for each country, check your nationality and 4 options below to get prepared for your Cambodia holidays.

Visa Exemption: 

To promote tourism between ASEAN countries, Cambodia has exempted visas for most countries in this region:
•    Tourists with a valid passport from 5 countries Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam can stay to enjoy Cambodia trips for up to 30 days.
•    The Filipino has 21-day entry and Thai has 14-day entry.
You just need to bring along your valid passport and the original and a notarized copy of your identity card when taking a tour to this land if you are a citizen of 9 countries: Brunei Darussalam, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. After arrival at the international airports or border gates, head straight to the passport control.

eVisa

Cambodia eVisa for single entry trips only is issued for stays up to 30 days at a fee of $36 USD.
E-visa takes tourists less time at the entry points than on arrival visa.
Most Asia, Europe, America, and Africa countries can get eVisa through 4 steps:
1.    Fill in the secure eVisa online form     
2.    Confirm then pay 37 USD 
3.    Get an approval eVisa within 3 business days
4.    Present a print of the approved eVisa to immigration at the eVisa area to enter Cambodia.

On Arrival Visa

Cambodia Visa on arrival is issued for stays up to 30 days, single entry only. A 1-month extension is possible. To obtain an On Arrival Visa, after your arrival, do steps below: 
1.    Go to the “Visa on Arrival” area. Grab and fill in a copy of the application form
2.    Head to the “Apply Visas” counter/line to submit: Completed Arrival-Departure card, Completed customs form, Completed application form, 1 passport size photo, passport.
3.    Wait till they call your name on the next counter/line. 
4.    Pay the visa fee $30 USD for single entry for 30 days, pick up your passport and your visa with the visa label then go to the passport control area.
Important:  It is necessary to prepare ready cash, notarized copies of important documents, and copies of your onward/ return ticket. Visa fee must be paid in USD.

Pre-arranged visa

A pre-arranged visa from the consulate prior to arrival is required for certain nationalities. If you need a long-stay or an immigration visa, it is more convenient to obtain this kind of visa.
•    Citizens from these 10 countries: Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Sudan are not eligible for Cambodia eVisa or Visa on arrival. They must apply for the visa in person or by mail at the nearest Cambodia consulate/embassy in their home country or country of residence prior to arrival at the fee of 35 USD. Required documents to apply: Completed visa application, current passport size photo, original passport, employment letter or proof of self-employment/business, round trip airline tickets, and a self-addressed envelope to receive your passport and visa on approval if apply by mail.
•    Passport holders who are eligible for eVisa or Visa on arrival can also apply for a visa at the consulates/embassy if they want.
•    Visas are typically processed within 5 business days but can vary from consulate to consulate.
•    Travel agents can apply for the Cambodia visa on your behalf.
