Travel freely to Vietnam with negative Covid Test result

Many tourists are searching for " when will Vietnam reopen? Here is the answer. The Ministry of Health said foreigners entering Vietnam only need to show a negative Covid-19 test certificate. They also get quarantine-free in Vietnam. As the matter of fact, foreigners now can travel freely in Vietnam with easy requirement.

Vietnam entry requirements

First and foremost, all tourist are required to furnish those certificates:

1.    Furnish proofs of 2-dose Covid vaccination and negative Covid-19 test result before entry (24 hours prior to Vietnam arrival in case of rapid test, or 72 hours in case of RT-PCR test). Children under two years are exempt from testing. This meaning, pax just needs at least 2 doses.
2.    Present travel insurance or medical insurance covering Covid treatment worth minimum 10,000$ on arrival. This one needs to show at entry.

Secondly, all foreigners are required to monitor their health for the first 10 days after arrival and notify medical staff if they have symptoms of Covid.

Thirdly, they must also use the PC-Covid app during their stay in Vietnam.

Visa waivers for citizens of 13 countries to Vietnam

Vietnam partially reopened to tourists under a vaccine passport program last November and has received over 10,000 arrivals since.

The same day when Vietnam has decided to fully reopen for international travel, the government announced the resumption of visa waivers for citizens of 13 countries, including Japan, South Korea and several in Europe. Yet the government only announced earlier on Tuesday to resume immigration procedures as before the pandemic, including 15-day visa exemption for citizens from 13 countries: Belarus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and the U.K.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said this Tuesday: "We are not just reopening tourism but also international trade and international exchange from March 15, as it used to be before Covid-19.

"The spirit is that we will not treat foreign tourists and local people differently, in terms of pandemic precaution measures," Dam said at a meeting with the ministries of tourism and foreign affairs.

Vietnam's tourism reopening has followed a careful roadmap that takes into account the nation's Covid situation, he said.

The health and tourism ministries announce new regulations for foreign tourists and they are going to be simple, he said.

"Tourists traveling by air will need to be tested for Covid-19, and once they're here, they will be treated like Vietnamese people.

"Traveling by road and sea will have a few more rules."

Deputy PM Dam said Vietnam will continue to collect opinions from ambassadors and businesses worldwide to consider adding more countries to its visa exemption and e-visa policies.

In clusion, it is no longer relevant to ask international visitors to follow all Covid-19 prevention protocols and only the rules of wearing masks and completing health declaration should be kept.
