Let's join us this trekking tour in Northern Vietnam with excellent trekking route in plunging highland valleys, tiers of rice paddies and soaring limestone mountains. On this trekking tour through Pu Luong Nature Reserve and Mai Chau, you can experience the daily life and culture of Thai and Muong ethnic minorities and spend your nights with friendly locals. Finish the trip with a luxurious cruise sailing amongst thousands of limestone islands jutting out of the turquoise water of Halong Bay and spend a night in the middle of Ha Long Bay.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome at Noi Bai International Airport by our English speaking tour guide and private transferred to Hanoi city center for hotel check-in. 
    At 16:00, a private Electric car will pick you up from the hotel, driving you and the tour guide around Hanoi Old quarters. During 2 hours, you are driven around 28 old streets in the area with stops to visit Dong Xuan market, the oldest market of Hanoi; Bach Ma temple worshipping 1 of 4 former guardians of the city; Old House 87 Ma May street; Kim Ngan communal house of “Silver” village; Hang Gai “Silk” street, King Ly Thai To statue, Ngoc Son temple and walk around Hoan Kiem lake. See you off at your hotel. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Hanoi.
    Please note: Standard check in time is 14:00. Early check in is subject to availability.

  2. Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, our driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive 4 hours to Mai Chau. We will stop en route for you to enjoy the scenic panorama over Mai Chau valley. Lunch at local restaurant. 
    Afternoon, go with local tour guide to visit remote rural villages Na Meo and Na Mo to understand more about their culture and customs.
    Back to your hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Mai Chau.

  3. Breakfast at your accommodation in Mai Chau. In the morning, check out and depart to Pu Luong. Along the way, you will visit Pu Luong Nature Reserve by road via a breathtaking mountain pass giving you a panoramic view of the whole valley. Lunch at your accommodation in Pu Luong, followed by free time to explore the beautiful retreat, with its captivating panoramic views and tranquil setting.
    In the afternoon, you will be transffed to a suspension bridge over the Cham River, where you begin your walk in search of stunning water wheels. Get up close to each wheel and discover how water is moved from river to handmade bamboo aqueducts via simple constructions of all sizes.
    Arriving at a local fisherman’s house, you have a short rest to gear up for the bamboo river rafting with the team. Float along the calm river and enjoy the views, while learning how to paddle and steer your handcrafted rafts.
    Arriving at scenic Tan Lap bridge, you disembark to be transferred back to your place of stay for dinner. Overnight in Pu Luong.

  4. Breakfast at the accommodation in Pu Luong. We then begin the day tour with an easy walk around the most beautiful valley of rice terraces. Then we will walk through small paths shrouded in vegetation to slowly reveal a picturesque Uoi village sitting at the base of a towering mountain and admire the panorama view of the village. Continue walking downhill to Uoi village and Lan village. If time permits, we will visit a local family where we can learn about their traditional brocade weaving. Walk through the rice paddies again to get back to the main road to the car pick-up point. 
    Lunch at Pu Luong retreat before checking out and transfer back to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi. 

  5. Breakfast at hotel. From Hanoi, at 8AM, head East for more than 3 hours to Halong Bay, the pride of the Gulf of Tonkin, a Natural World Heritage as designated by UNESCO in 1994 and 2006. The road will pass by the Red River delta with green paddyfields and rural villages, where hard-work farmers are busy with their farming jobs, ploughing buffaloes or planting seedling. 
    Upon arrival in Halong, we’ll take a big boat to cruise the Bay to discover the magnificent beauty of this “Descending-dragon” bay, created by thousands odd-shaped limestone rocks and karst grottoes. After a lunch of fresh seafood on board, we can visit the Surprising Grotto, stop for swimming or kayaking (at your own cost), passing floating villages and approach islets to enjoy their beauty in close distance. Evening attend activities on the boat or relax at your own leisure. Overnight on the boat.

  6. You should wake up early to enjoy the dawn on the sea in the early morning. The Vietnamese call the "East Sea" by a point-oriented name "Eastern Sea", so you may guess how miraculous seeing the sunrise over the islets of the Bay. After breakfast our boat will continue to cruise in marvelous areas, where almost each islet has its own name, adopting its shape or reminiscent like Sail Island, Fisherman’s head rock, Butterfly rock or Turtle islet etc. Lunch on board before disembarking the boat and take the shuttle bus back to Hanoi. Overnight at hotel in Hanoi. 

  7. Breakfast at hotel. Your free time today for own sightseeing and shopping around till transfer to the airport for the departure flight back home. 
    Please note: Standard check out time is 12:00. Late check-out is not included
