Itinerary

  1. Xin chào and welcome to Vietnam! 
    Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by our tour guide and transferred to your hotel in the center of Hanoi city.

    Spend a relaxed morning adjusting to the time difference, with the option to visit the traditional Water Puppet Theatre, where age-old Vietnamese stories are performed with live music.

    In the late afternoon, join a guided street food tour to explore Hanoi’s vibrant local cuisine. With an expert guide, you’ll visit hidden food spots known only to locals and sample Vietnamese favorites like Bún Chả, dim sum, fried pastries, and more adventurous dishes. The evening ends with a glass of freshly brewed beer at Bia Hơi Corner, perfect for watching street life roll by.

  3. After breakfast and hotel checkout, the bus will pick you up in Hanoi’s Old Quarter for a 4.5-hour journey to Pu Luong. As you leave the city behind, the landscape gradually shifts to peaceful valleys dotted with small villages, rice fields, and local life—farmers tending crops, children playing, and tractors on winding rural roads.

    Your first stop is your homestay at Pu Luong Valley Home, where you'll settle into a private room surrounded by nature.

    In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walk to a nearby waterfall, following a scenic path through rice fields. The sound of cascading water leads you to a refreshing spot where you can swim, explore, or simply relax in the calm of the forest.

  4. Start the day with a simple breakfast while enjoying views of the peaceful valley. Then set off on a two-hour downhill walk through quiet, scenic surroundings.

    Around midday, you’ll arrive at a local home, where a home-cooked lunch is prepared by the residents. In the afternoon, you can choose to float on a bamboo raft or take a refreshing dip in the clear stream by the house.

    Later, walk back to Pu Luong Valley Home and join locals around in their daily farming activities, gaining insight into rural life. As the day ends, return to your accomodation for a shared dinner and soak in the unforgettable mountain views.

  5. After breakfast, you’ll be picked up by a driver and travel by shared bus to your next destination: Ninh Binh, a journey of approximately 4 hours.

    Your stay is in Tam Coc, often called “Ha Long Bay on land” for its striking karst mountain scenery. You’ll check in at a cozy eco-resort nestled among limestone peaks and overlooking a tranquil lake.

    There are no scheduled activities today, so you can relax at the resort or explore the area at your own pace. Bicycles are available at the resort (or for rent at your own expense), perfect for discovering the peaceful countryside and unique karst formations of northern Vietnam.

  6. In addition to its iconic karst mountains, Tam Coc is surrounded by lush rice fields where local farmers begin their work early each day. This morning, set out with a guide for a bike ride along peaceful paths through the fields, catching glimpses of rural life as the day begins.

    Your ride continues to a wetland park, home to around 46 bird species. With your guide’s help, you’ll spot various birds and enjoy the calm, natural setting.

    After the ride, return to your accommodation for breakfast. Later in the morning, take a traditional sampan boat trip along the rivers winding through the dramatic karst landscape. This scenic journey is one of Ninh Binh’s highlights—especially beautiful in the morning before the crowds arrive.

  7. After breakfast, you’ll be picked up by a shared bus and travel to Ha Long Bay, the pride of the Gulf of Tonkin and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994.

    Upon arrival, board on cruise and begin your journey through the bay, renowned for its stunning karst formations and thousands of limestone islets rising from emerald waters. Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch on board as you take in the breathtaking scenery.

    In the afternoon, visit the Surprising Grotto, stop for swimming or kayaking, and cruise past floating villages and dramatic islets to admire their beauty up close. Return to the boat for dinner, followed by free time to join onboard activities or simply relax.

    Note: Cruise itineraries may vary slightly depending on the cruise operator. Only Vietnamese and international food is served on board. No escorted guide is included; however, the cruise crew provides support throughout the trip.

  8. Start your morning with a Tai Chi session on deck, followed by breakfast as your boat continues cruising through the scenic islets of Ha Long Bay.

    After a brunch, return to the harbor and transfer back to Hanoi in a shared deluxe vehicle.

    In the evening, your guide and driver will pick you up and take you to Hanoi Train Station for your overnight train to Hue (private 4-berth cabin). After check-in, enjoy free time to relax onboard as the train departs.

    Note: Facilities on the train are basic, and there is no shower available. If you’d like to freshen up before departure, consider booking a mini hotel in Hanoi (available at additional cost).

  9. Upon arrival at Hue Train Station, your guide and driver will pick you up and take you to a local restaurant for breakfast.

    The rest of the day is free at your leisure to relax or explore Hue on your own.

    Optional Tour: A Glance of Hue

    Begin your exploration with a peaceful dragon boat ride along the Perfume River toward Thien Mu Pagoda, the oldest in Hue. Enjoy the calm scenery and fresh atmosphere along the way.

    After visiting the pagoda, continue by car to the Imperial Citadel, where you’ll explore the former living, worshiping, and working quarters of the Nguyen royal family, Vietnam's last dynasty.

    Next, stop at Dong Ba Market, a bustling local market filled with sights, sounds, and flavors, before heading to My Home Restaurant for lunch. Savor traditional Hue cuisine and enjoy royal herbal tea while relaxing your feet in a herbal soak after the meal.

    In the afternoon, visit the royal tombs of Tu Duc and Khai Dinh, reflecting traditional Vietnamese architecture with touches of French influence.

    End the day with a short drive to Thuy Xuan Conical Hat Village, where you’ll meet a local family making traditional hats and colorful incense. This is a great chance for photos and insight into local craftsmanship.

  10. ravel by bus from Hue to Hoi An, enjoying scenic views along the way. The journey takes you over the Hai Van Pass, where mountains meet the sea in a dramatic landscape. Along the route, you’ll pass green hills, small villages, and rice fields dotted with water buffalo.

    Upon arrival in Hoi An, check into a charming boutique hotel with stylishly furnished rooms, located close to the historic Old Town. The kids will be especially thrilled to find a swimming pool—they'll likely be splashing in it before the suitcases are even unpacked.

    Optional Tour: A Day in the Life of a Farmer at Tra Que Village (Group Tour)

    8:45–9:00 AM: A local guide will meet you at your hotel for a bicycle ride to the local market. Learn how vegetables are used in both food and traditional medicine. Ride through quiet roads and rice fields, capturing photos of water buffalo, cows, and farmers at work. You'll see the peaceful beauty of the Hoi An countryside and meet warm-hearted local farmers.

    10:15 AM: Arrive at Tra Que Vegetable Village, a traditional farming community. Enjoy a cup of “É Water,” an herbal tea known for its health benefits. Then, put on a farmer’s outfit—including a conical hat—and experience traditional organic gardening methods firsthand.

    10:50 AM: Head back to a local home for a relaxing herbal massage for your head, shoulders, and feet using herbs from the garden.

    11:30 AM: After the massage, join a cooking class. Learn to create vegetable flowers from carrots, tomatoes, and spring onions. Then, prepare five traditional Vietnamese dishes, followed by a meal including rice and stir-fried morning glory with garlic. Vegetarian options available upon request.

    1:30 PM: After lunch and a short rest, bike back to your hotel.

  12. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then check out and transfer to the airport with a driver (no guide) for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. While Hanoi is known for its low-rise buildings and scooters, Ho Chi Minh City features towering high-rise buildings, rooftop bars, and wide avenues filled with cars. A truly different city with its own unique dynamic.

    On the journey from the airport to Vinh Long, you'll pass lush green rice fields, fruit orchards brimming with produce, and winding rivers, all characteristic of the Mekong Delta. Vinh Long is famous for An Binh Island, home to the Cai Cuong Ancient House, which blends Western and Eastern architectural styles, along with many attractive eco-tourism sites.

    Make a stop at a charming homestay with a swimming pool, surrounded by lush greenery. This is the perfect place for the whole family to relax and unwind.

    OPTIONAL TOUR:
    VINH LONG – AN BINH ISLAND – VINH LONG
    A Mekong Travel boat will take you from the new boat station, cruising downstream along the Mekong River where you'll see floating cages for farming fish. Stop at the Vinh Long Market in the town, a great spot to take photos of local fish, shrimp, prawns, crabs, snakes, rice-field rats, tropical fruits, and vegetables.

    Next, visit the brick kilns where you can watch the locals craft beautiful pottery from clay. Continue to a local workshop to see how rice paper, coconut candy, and pop-rice are made. Enjoy some treats with a cup of hot tea.

    Then, we’ll take a walk to visit the orchard and traditional house of the Ut Trinh family. You may opt to enjoy lunch at this local home (at your own expense).

    For a relaxing experience, you can also enjoy biking along village paths to see the daily life of the rural people.

    The cruise will return to Vinh Long city.

  14. After checkout, return to Saigon. Upon arrival, you’ll have the freedom to explore this bustling city at your own pace. Your hotel, complete with a swimming pool, is located in District 1, the vibrant heart of the city, where most of the major attractions are situated. Here, skyscrapers and colonial-era buildings blend together, creating a unique cityscape.

    For dinner, head to the Ben Thanh Street Food Market, where small food stalls serve freshly made dishes. You can sit at the long communal tables and enjoy a variety of delicious offerings. Whether you're in the mood for Western, Asian, Japanese, or Vietnamese food, there’s something for everyone.

    OPTIONAL TOUR:
    HO CHI MINH CITY & CU CHI TUNNEL FULL DAY – GROUP TOUR

    Start the morning with a visit to the Independence Palace, also known as the Reunification Palace, built on the site of the former Norodom Palace. This iconic landmark of Ho Chi Minh City was designed by architect Ngo Viet Thu. Continue your tour to admire stunning French colonial-era structures, including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the historic Central Post Office. Finish with a visit to the War Remnants Museum, which showcases extensive exhibits on both the Indochina Wars.

    Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before departing for the Cu Chi Tunnels. The trip takes approximately one and a half hours by bus. Upon arrival, you'll receive an introduction and watch a video about how the tunnels were constructed and how the people survived under the harsh conditions during the war. Then, explore the tunnel systems, including specially constructed living areas such as kitchens, bedrooms, storage, weapon factories, field hospitals, and command centers that supported life underground. You'll also see hidden trap doors and dangerous traps, which were used for security during wartime. Afterward, enjoy a serving of tea and cassava, a staple food for guerrillas during the war.

    There will be a break to relax or for those interested, an opportunity to try shooting real guns.

    Return to Saigon for the evening. Overnight at your hotel.

    The Notre Dame Cathedral is currently under restoration, so guests can only visit the exterior.
