Itinerary

Upon arrival in Yangon, we will be welcomed by the tourguide and driver of Threeland at the airport and transferred to Yangon. Check-in hotel or leave your luggage hereby. After a short refreshment we will head to the National Museum, a magnificent building with 5-storeys full of exciting evidence of the rich culture and history of Myanmar, with collections of jade, precious stone, emerald, gold, silver, pearl and ivory antiquities, and multiple samples of ethnic and traditional costumes as well as spectacular exhibits of Myanmar culture.

Go on to visit Mahabandoola Park, Sule Pagoda - said to be more than 2,000 years old, located in the center of the city and being a great centre of Buddhist pilgrims, visitors, and people come for meditation. Different from the inside pagoda, the outside streets adjacent to Sule are very exciting, considering Myanmar has no speed limit, with bus, car, trishaw (3-wheel pedicab), bicycles and vendors (motorcycle is forbidden in Yangon), and we will be easily enchanted by the fascination of the country. Go on not so far from Sule to the Jetty to enjoy watching multiple ferries and boats leaving Yangon for other areas and witness the real, hard-work life of Yangon people. If time available, we will hang around on foot to visit the colonial quarter opposite the Jetty. Dinner at restaurant.

Please note!

On the days the Museum closed (Monday and Tuesday), Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda with 70m-long Reclining Buddha (Buddha in Nirvana) will be arranged for the program.

After breakfast at hotel or picking the breakfast box prepared by the hotel in case of early flight, we will be transferred to the airport for domestic flight to Bagan. Welcomed by the guide in Bagan. After leaving luggage at the hotel, we will take horsecart to visit Bagan, the fabulous land in central Myanmar, with thousands of stupas and towers stretching along Irrawaddy River. The program will be adjusted flexibly by our guide, but to name a few, our visit will be inclusive of Ananda, one of the finest temple in architecture at Bagan, and most revered temples with its four standing Bagan style Buddha images and huge carved teak doors, Ananda Oakkyaung - simply a Monastery built with red bricks, located within the precincts of the Ananda Temple.

It was built in 1137 AD and paintings of the 18th century are seen in the walls of the monastery; Thatbyinnyu Temple - 201ft tall, the tallest in Bagan and it is shaped like a cross, but is not symmetrical. The temple has two primary storeys, with the seated Buddha image located on the second storey; Dhammayangyi Temple - the widest temple in Bagan, and is built in a plan similar to that of Ananda Temple; and Manuha temple with a gigantic Buddha statue, a captive king’s impression of life in prison, and so on. Before the sunset, our guide will help us to choose a good place to enjoy this grandiose view, when the sun descends behind the horizon above the towers and bushes. Back to the hotel late afternoon.

O/N Bagan.

Take our breakfast box prepared by the hotel and take our horsecart (or car if time is not sufficient) to the Old Bagan for extraordinary sunrise at Bagan. The dry weather in central Myanmar really help us get the best panorama over the thousands stupas and temples here and this view should never be missed. Transfer to the airport for flight to Heho.

The guide at Heho will welcome us at the airport and it takes us about one hour to run along beautiful hilly roads with green vegetation and pinewood of Shan State to Nyang Shwe, from where we take our boat heading to our resort located upon the lake. The trip is not a transfer, it will be memorable with the view of multiple birds, boats full of vegetables and flowers, bamboo, etc. and “leg-rowing” fishermen at Inle Lake. After check-in the resort, we will take our boat again to visit Phaungdaw Oo Paya, a famous pagoda with four Buddha images covered by gold-plated pieces day by day by the devotees, then visit floating gardens which are fertilized by the weed taken from the riverbed. Vegetable is superb here, following ways of natural planting, and we may see at any of our meals on Inle Lake huge and fresh cucumber, bean, tomato, melon from the lake. In the afternoon we will visit the workshops on the lake, where people earn their living by making silk, lotus products, blacksmithware, silverware, tobacco and so on. Watching their production progress is as exciting as buying (and bargaining) for their products as gifts for your families and friends. Back to the hotel late afternoon.

O/N Inle Lake.

After breakfast at hotel we will be transferred by boat back to Nyaung Shwe, taking our vehicle to return to Heho airport for domestic flight to Yangon. Upon arrival in Yangon, we will be welcomed by our guide in Yangon again and head to Shwedagon Pagoda, 2,600 years sharp in May 2012 according to the Buddhist records; the massive scale and magnificent desire of the pagoda with thousands of stupas surrounding the 99m-high main one, with the presence of very respectful and simple Buddists and visitors, will give us unforgetable impression. A visit to the Shwedagon should not be less than two to three hours to give us enough time to contemplate its meditative ambience, tranquil and beauty, as well as understand the real religious life and belief in Buddishm of the Burmese people. After leaving the pagoda, we will visit Scott market for our last shopping and witness the fascination of the most famous market of the city. Back to hotel late afternoon.
