Itinerary

Welcomed by Threeland tourguide and vehicle at Yangon airport from your morning or midday flight, transfer to Yangon to check-in hotel. After a short refreshment we will start to visit the city, including the National Museum, the biggest Museum of the city. With five storeys full of antiquities made of real gold, silver, jade, ivory, exceptional traditional costume and symbols and so on, the museum does give us a great view about Myanmar culture and history. Go on to the Jetty where daily life of Yangon is going on with all its hardship which can help us understand more about hardworking people and their hospitality, diligence and kindness. The landscape at the Jetty is also graceful with grand view of the river and charming colonial quarter nearby. At leisure in the evening. (One meal, either Lunch or dinner will be arranged depending on your arrival flight at local restaurant between visits).

O/N Yangon.

Please note!
The National Museum is closed on Monday and Tuesday and other sites will be recommended.

After breakfast at hotel we will continue our trip and spend this morning to visit and meditate at Shwedaggon, the pride of Buddhism not just of Myanmar but Buddhist countries, with thousands of small pagodas and stupas surrounding the main one, which is 99m high, all are golden-plated. Despite being poor or rich, Myanmar people consider paying tribute to the pagodas and plating stupas and Buddha statue with real golden leaves a very natural deed. Being celebrated its 2,600 years old (according to Buddhism’s records) in May 2012, Shwedaggon has been being the most important center of meditation that attracts pilgrims from all around the world.

A visit at the pagoda will take us not less than 2 or 3 hours for its magnificence and significance. After the visit, we will go on to Bogoyke market, also called Scott market, the biggest market of Myanmar where exciting daily life of Yangon can tell us a lot about the living here as well as offering us great chance for watching different jewelries made of jade and emerald (one of the prides of Myanmar) and lovely handicraft.

Have lunch at local restaurant before transfer to the airport for flight to Bagan. The guide in Bagan will pick-up you at Nyang-U airport and transfer to the hotel or directly to the ancient area of Bagan with thousands of stupas and pagodas and temples, where we can enjoy a great sunset ever over the stupas.

O/N Bagan.

Please note!
The tourguide at two cities can adjust the program slightly depending on our flight time.

Breakfast box will be prepared by the hotel for our very early departure, normally at 4.30 or 5am, should we wish to witness the great sunrise in Bagan. Our horse cart and tourguide will pick-up us on time to depart to the Old Bagan where most beautiful testimonies of the splendors and the richness of this site conceal. After enjoying the dawn from behind stupas, we will discover more a lot from thousands of temples, shrines, stupas at Bagan, to name a few, Ananda temple - one of the finest one in architecture and most revered temples with its four standing Bagan style Buddha images and huge carved teak doors, Ananda Oakkyaung - simply a Monastery built with red bricks, located within the precincts of the Ananda Temple. It was built in 1137 AD and paintings of the 18th century are seen in the walls of the monastery, Thatbyinnyu Temple - 201ft tall, the tallest in Bagan and it is shaped like a cross, but is not symmetrical. The temple has two primary storeys, with the seated Buddha image located on the second storey; or Dhammayangyi Temple - the widest temple in Bagan, and is built in a plan similar to that of Ananda Temple.

In the afternoon visit Htilominlo pagoda, famed for its original fine plaster carvings and glazed sandstone decoration which are remarkably well-preserved. The temple stands 46m high and houses four Buddha statues on the lower and upper floors; Mingalazedi pagoda, which is one of the few temples in Bagan with a full set of glazed terra cotta tiles or the Dhammayangyi pagoda, Bagan’s largest temple, where the brickwork is perhaps the finest that can be found around Bagan. Back to your hotel in late afternoon.

Have Breakfast at hotel before being transferred to Nyang-U airport  to fly to Heho. The guide of Threeland at Heho will pick up and transfer you to Kalaw, a hill station set up by the British centuries ago, with stops to visit on the way. With pleasant mountain weather, sufficient vegetables, colourful flowers, many ethnic group with exclusive cultural traditions, Kalaw is one of the best attractions for trekking and long stay. Check in your hotel and have lunch before visit the town in the afternoon, including the temples and monasteris in Kalaw, Kalaw market, church, and prepare ourselves for the trekking days ahead.

O/N Kalaw.

Please note! In rainy season the program may change in accordance with the humidity and conditions of trekking routes.

After breakfast at hotel we will start our trekking for the whole day, there are many different paths passing the villages of Pa-O and other ethnic groups in this area and all the roads are extremely green with vegetation gardens, paddy terraced fields, poetic landscape with high hills, thousand-year-old giant trees and wild flowers. The hills, though quite high, are not too challenging unless the rain season arrives. We can have both exercises by trekking, and at the same time witness the industrious life of hill tribal groups and chat with them to learn more about their culture. Reach a graceful monastery  in the forest at Hti Tain for dinner and rest.

O/N Hti Tain.

After breakfast at the monastery, we will trek for another half-day trekking until arrival at Indain, a Boat Pier at Inle Lake. The route will be more challenging with more up and down parts but not too hard. After lunch at the pier, we will be transferred by boat to our Resort located on the Lake. The road on the lake is extremely picturesque with houses on stilts on the lake, water vegetation, water birds, bamboo and wood bridges linking two rows of houses, and many fishermen with their multiple ways of fishing. We will visit some handicraft shops and workshops, where you can both witness the way the locals make bamboo, silk, fiber, lotus, blacksmith products and buy some gifts for our families and friends. If you are keen on visiting religious construction of Myanmar by now, stop at Phaung Daw Oo Paya, a pagoda with four famous Buddha statues covered by golden leaves from the Buddhists. Back to the resort later afternoon.

O/N Inle Lake.

Today is our day to chew up and meditate after a long trekking road and several flights to take during tour journey in Myanmar. After breakfast we can relax for a bit until taking our boat to visit the lake with stopovers at the gardens and local workshops and stop for watching and taking photos of leg-rowing fishermen, an extraordinary tradition only existing at the Lake. With the tourguide, we will visit floating gardens on the lake where people use water weed as a good, local fertilizers and make very tasty vegetables, especially tomato, cucumber, cowpea and melons. If we are lucky, we can visit a market that held every 5-day at the monastery and see how people start their early trading with plenty of consumer goods, from fresh fish and chicken, duck, to different kinds of vegetable planted on the lake and glamorous flowers. Visit the famous monastery Nga Hpe Chaung, often known as the Jumping Cat monastery, which is very famous for their wooden structure, before returning to our hotel.

O/N Inle Lake.

After breakfast at hotel, we will take a boat trip back to Pier to take our vehicle to the airport in Heho. Flight back to Yangon, our guide will see us at the airport to take us to Sule pagoda, the one said to be there for more than two thousand years old, with great Buddha image and destination of many pilgrims as well as people who look for an isolated place for meditation. Home to many important history events, Sule pagoda serves not as a religious construction but historic site either. Lunch at restaurant in Yangon. Nice trip!

Lousie O'neil

We had a 10 days tour of Myanmar covering Yangon, Bagan Mandalay and Inle lake. Threeland Travel organised all our pickups tours cars drivers and guides plus an great Itinerary. We were able to vary the itinerary times to suit our selves. as the weather was most hot during the midday we were advised by the guides to take lunch and then go back to hotel until the weather cooled when we would be collected and complete the day tours. The guides we're excellent in speaking english as well as the drivers who were also very courteous. I would recommend the tour company as they were able to tailor the trip to our specifications. The hotels were excellent but only ensure that they have swimming pool as the country is hot and it is nice to return after touring to cool down in the hotel pool.

AMAZING! You need at least a week to see everything!

Sandra Basma

If you're in Bagan, you already know that this place is very special! The number of gorgeous temples is mind-boggling and the fact that you can just wander among them and be by yourself much of the time is just fantastic! We spent 10 days here and plan on returning and spending at least a week. We enjoyed our time in Bagan so much! It really lived up to and exceeded our expectations!

Stunning place

Jennifer Mwamara

What an amazing place! We visited during rainy season & had to take cover at one stage but there are plenty of options. Foreigners aren’t allowed into the main temple but there is just so much else to see. It was quite busy but not packed with people, more bustling. There are stalls on the sides of the staircase and this is really the only place we were able to pick up souvenirs. Once at the top you pay admission to the main concourse. The concourse is huge and you just walk your way round. At various points there are Buddhas for different days of the week so you find the Buddha for the day of the week & part of the day you were born, then pour water over the Buddha’s head 3 times for luck. Maps are provided and the views from the lift area are stunning. Go back at night & get photos of it lit up.

Wonderful experience!!

Phang Cho

Where ever we went, people were friendly, most people were sincere and eager to satisfy our requests. We saw beautiful and exquisite places. Our wish for the country is that they will have the inner strength to preserve their heritage and learn to dispose of all the new man made materials coming into the country, like plastics, in a responsible way so that it does not take away some of the beauty of the landscape!

Good tour for Myanmar

Paran elisheva and Eyal

Mum and I were looked after every step of the way. Attentive, funny and knowledgeable guides and a very interesting and cultural itinerary. They were very happy to add special request visits into our day. I felt like I didn't have to worry about anything except enjoy my traveling with everything sorted for me by Ms Hedy. We had to change our itinerary partway through due to illness and this was handled quickly and with no stress by the Threeland Travel team. I 100% trust this tour company, I would certainly book through then again and recommend them to my friends. They really delivered and beyond my expectations.

Great team organisation and flexible itinerary

Emilio Dominguez

Ms Patana was a great tour manager who is flexible and accommodative. She proposed a great tour itinerary with reasonable price. Her ground team at yangon was great too. They are professional and highly accommodative. Good knowledge about the tourist spots and excellent knowledge of restaurants that meet our demand. Overall, so very satisfied journey for our group despite the long road journey. Too good to recommend.

Brilliant trip organised

Joege Martin Rios

Brilliant trip organised by Go Myanmar We asked Threeland Travel to help us plan a 2 week trip. They got back to us very quickly with a proposed itinerary and costs. We went back and forth a few times with changes and questions and they were very happy to help and offer alternative suggestions. We visited several places and each guide arrived on time and were all very friendly. We also flew to Ngapali beach from Thandwe and they organised for someone to help us at the airport with check in and immigration (these were just single desks) and explained the process of boarding. Cannot recommend them enough, and thank them enough for a brilliant trip in Myanmar.
