Take the road less traveled on a 5-day journey through Ha Giang, Vietnam’s wild northern frontier. Ride over sky-high mountain passes, drift along the emerald Nho Que River, and hike through villages where traditions run deep. From the majesty of Ma Pi Leng to the hidden charm of Du Gia, every day brings a new adventure wrapped in breathtaking scenery and local warmth.

Depart Hanoi at 7:00 AM by SIC bus for a six-hour journey to Ha Giang City.
Upon arrival, take the lunch break at a local restaurant before hotel check-in.
In the afternoon, visit a nearby ethnic village for a short hike through rice fields and traditional houses.
Return to the city for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, hop on your Jeep and begin the adventure into Ha Giang’s highlands. Today’s route introduces you to some of the most iconic stops in the region:
• Bac Sum Slope – offering panoramic views and a taste of the dramatic landscapes to come.
• Quan Ba Heaven Gate – the natural gateway to the karst plateau, standing at an altitude of 1,500 meters. From here, admire sweeping views of valleys and towering limestone mountains.
• Twin Mountains (Fairy Bosom Hills) – a pair of perfectly rounded limestone hills rising from lush rice fields. It becomes a symbol of Quan Ba.
• Nam Dam Village – a traditional Dao ethnic village known for its preserved cultural practices. Walk through the village to see houses built of clay walls and wooden roofs, and enjoy the serene rural atmosphere.
• Lung Tam Village – home to the Hmong community, famous for its centuries-old hemp weaving tradition.
By late afternoon, continue to your accommodation in Quan Ba – a quiet retreat surrounded by nature, where you can relax after a full day of exploration.
Dinner is served at the hotel restaurant.
Overnight in Quan Ba.

After breakfast, continue deeper into the spectacular Dong Van Karst Plateau, a UNESCO Global Geopark filled with dramatic peaks, winding passes, and unique ethnic culture.
Morning highlights:
Lung Cam Cultural Village – Visit a traditional house which was featured in the award-winning movie The Story of Pao.
Vuong’s Palace (Palace of the Hmong King) – once the residence of the powerful Vuong family. The building combines French, Chinese, and Hmong influences, and stands as a symbol of Hmong history and resilience.
Enjoy lunch in Dong Van Town.
Afternoon highlights:
Ma Pi Leng Pass – the crown jewel of Ha Giang. This legendary road snakes along towering cliffs with breathtaking views of jagged peaks, deep valleys, and the blue Nho Que River far below.
Nho Que River Boat Trip & Tu San Canyon – board a boat for a scenic ride on river, gliding between the vertical cliffs of Tu San Canyon, the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia.
Dong Van Ancient Town – wander the old quarter with its stone-paved streets and traditional houses, once a bustling market hub of ethnic traders.
Dinner and overnight in Dong Van.

Leave Dong Van and continue the scenic journey through winding passes and remote valleys.
Morning highlights:
• Meo Vac Town – a peaceful mountain town surrounded by rugged peaks and green valleys. On Sundays, the famous Meo Vac Market bursts with colors, where Hmong, Tay, and Dao communities gather in traditional dress to trade goods.
• Ngoc Long Village – stop for a gentle bamboo rafting experience on calm river waters, a unique way to enjoy the tranquil countryside.
Afternoon highlights:
• Du Gia Village – arrive at this charming Tay ethnic community, nestled among rice fields and limestone mountains.
• Du Gia Waterfall – cool off with a refreshing swim at this natural waterfall hidden in greenery, a perfect way to end the day.
Dinner and overnight in a traditional homestay or lodge in Du Gia.

After breakfast, set out for the last stretch of your loop, passing through peaceful valleys and ethnic villages.
• Scenic drive back to Ha Giang City – the road winds past terraced rice fields, meandering rivers, and towering mountains. This final ride gives you one more chance to soak in the spectacular views of northern Vietnam.
• Upon arrival in Ha Giang, take time to refresh with a shower and rest before departure.
In the late afternoon, transfer by SIC bus back to Hanoi or Sapa. Arrive around 11:00 PM. Services end.
