Check out our short and easy-to-follow one week in Vietnam Itinerary to discover what to see in one week in Vietnam:

1. Northern Vietnam - Hanoi

Day 1: Because you'll be exhausted after the trip and drive, an electric tram tour or cyclo tour around Hanoi's Old Quarter should be a great way to spend your first day in Vietnam.

An amazing small tour around Hanoi you may be impressed

The historic 36 streets used to market Hanoi's unique handicrafts. In contemporary times, Hanoi Old Quarter has become the most central quarter in Vietnam's capital, where tourists can enjoy Vietnam culture, traditional architecture, and food in a modern setting.
Many of Hanoi's main sites are in the city center, so walk while admiring the Opera House, the weaving and twisting Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, and the beautiful Ngoc Son Temple.

Day 2: After exploring Hanoi on foot the day before, spend the morning gaining a local's highlight viewpoint. You'll probably travel to the Ho Chi Minh Complex and the mausoleum of 'Uncle Ho,' as well as the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, and the Fine Arts Museum.

2. Northern Vietnam: Halong Bay

On the second afternoon, pack your belongings and check out of the hotel. It takes around 3.5 hours to reach Halong City Harbor by car. Keep your camera handy since you'll be passing through a magnificent stretch of rice fields in the Red River delta.

The Red River Delta is Vietnam's second-largest delta, featuring numerous huge farms.

Day 3: Having overnight on a boat in Halong bay is wonderful for one week in Vietnam. When it comes to a once-in-a-lifetime tourist attraction, Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh should not be overlooked. Unesco has several times acknowledged Halong Bay as the world's natural heritage. When domestic or international tourists visit Ha Long Bay, they always experience the same sensation: the vibration of awe in the presence of a one-of-a-kind wonder.

Halong Bay

Halong Bay is one of Vietnam’s most popular tourist destinations you should not miss in one week of the Vietnam journey

Day 4: A group of nearly 3,000 limestone islets that offer limitless kayaking options. Relax on a boat or visit Cat Ba National Park for magical waterfalls!

3. Northern Vietnam: Sapa ( Sa Pa )

Day 5: Back to Hanoi on the fourth evening, and take a night train to Sapa.

Sapa is an area in Northern Vietnam on the border with China, home to several ethnic communities. Sapa is a popular tourist destination due to its breathtakingly beautiful scenery. Sapa's pace of life is a little slower, as the economy is largely based on small-scale agriculture and tourism.

Sapa is the third destination of one week in the Vietnam checklist

Sapa is a must-see one-week itinerary in Vietnam. If you go during the winter months of December and January, it will most likely be quite cold and cloudy, and you won't be able to see the rice terraces. We highly recommend visiting Sapa during the warmer months of May to September.

Day 6: In Sapa, you can stop at any point to enjoy the lovely valleys, rice terraces, and locals - hill tribes laboring on the slope of the hill, water buffalo, or pigs on the slope of mountains.

Put a foot in Sapa town and go on a day trip to see:
Cat Cat Village, located 2 kilometers from Sapa Town, is an age-old H'Mong ethnic group village. With many distinct customs and practices that you may have never seen in other villages. Visitors to Cat Cat can wonder at a vibrant and vivid painting. That is the image of young ladies sitting at looms, holding bright pieces of brocade with designs on them.

Following that, we continued to the Sapa Cable Station for an unforgettable cable car ride to Indochina's Rooftop – Mount Fansipan. This is especially intriguing in the country's northern mountains, where visitors come to view rice terraces and minority peoples' traditional arts.

Day 7: Back to Hanoi. There are no trips planned for the trip's last day. If you have a couple of hours, you may peek into the lives of the locals or enjoy a cup of coffee.

Vietnam is a great location for explorers due to its diversified terrain, which includes mountains, hills, ocean, islands, and deltas. North Vietnam is frequently lauded for its distinctive natural and cultural traits. For the environment, there's Halong Bay, and for culture, Sapa and northwest Vietnam contain the most authentic indigenous hill tribe tribes.
