Airlines announce changes to operating airports in Siem Reap, Cambodia

Announcement, from October 16, 2023, Siem Reap International Airport (REP) will be transferred to Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI), accordingly:

• The new international airport is officially named "Siem Reap Angkor International Airport" by the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC), expected to open for operation from October 16, 2023.
• All commercial passenger and cargo flights currently being operated at Siem Reap International Airport (REP) will be transferred to Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI) from 00:00 AM (hours). Cambodia locality) October 16, 2023

Where is Siem Reap Angkor Airport (SAI) located?

New airport - Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI) is located in Tayek commune, Nam Nikom district, about 55km from Siem Reap province center and about 40km from Angkor complex ruins.

According to the Cambodian government, the change to the airport is to ensure it does not affect the famous world wonder Angkor Wat while upgrading the facilities to be more modern.

The new Siem Reap Angkor Airport will be able to accommodate large aircraft, including models such as: A340-300, A350-900, B777-200, B777-300ER, B747-300 and B747-400. Furthermore, the airport will have a total of 48 gates to create more favorable conditions for passenger operations.
