Travel Guide
Angkor has earned such a worldwide reputation as a unique masterpiece of architecture and proudly stands amongst the new wonders of the modern world voted in different polls.
Less than 10km from the center of Siem Reap, Angkor is a huge complex of hundreds of temples, shrine, small vestiges, artificial lakes and stone towers, many of which still carry traces of the rainforest or jungle from the old time. Being the life-support system for the Angkor, Siem Reap itself is also the epicenter of the rapidly growing Cambodia. Yet, with efficient conservation efforts from the government and the locals, Siem Reap is still a small, charming town, with old French shop-houses, shady tree-lined boulevards and a steady flowing river, where you can board a boat trip to see a part of the Great Lake Tonle Sap, an important part of Cambodia’s culture.
