One day tour of Mong Tay, May Rut or Dam Ngang islands in Phu Quoc

Posted By : Threeland Travel / Phu Quoc-Travel Tips

Mong Tay Island - May Rut Island (or Dam Ngang) in one day is a tour you should not miss when traveling to Phu Quoc on your own. I am sure, they are an extremely memorable and worthwhile experience for your vacation in Phu Quoc

I still have really strong feelings about the one-day tour I took to Hon Mong Tay and Hon May Rut (or Dam Ngang) at the end of last year. A tour where the sun shines once again after almost a week of rain, where there are islands, fine, white sand beaches, and the sea is incredibly pure and blue... Additionally, they recall the warmth and passion of the Threeland Travel’s tour guides I had the pleasure of meeting.

DETAILS OF ONE DAY TOUR TO MONG TAY, MAY RUT ISLANDS

9:00: Car and guide arrive at the hotel to take you up. The car then departs from Duong Dong town to pick up a few more passengers before traveling along Tran Hung Dao street to Bai Sao port and picking up passengers along the route.

Why is Bai Sao port? There are two seasons in Phu Quoc: the rainy season and the dry season. Because the sea is calmer and easier to anchor at Bai Sao near the end of the rainy season when I'm traveling, all cruise ships must leave from there. They will switch to leaving from An Thoi port during the dry season when the dock there is quieter and fewer vessels are anchored.

10:00: Tour arrived to Sao Beach. After giving the group some time to gather their luggage, the tour leader boarded a huge ship in a small boat and set out to explore Mong Tay Island, May Rut Island, and Dam Ngang (Gam Ghi).

10:15: The boat leaves Bai Sao port and travels along Khem beach, passing the magnificent, majestic 5-star JW Marriott Phu Quoc Resort.

The group visits Dua, Roi, and Thom islands in turn. The longest cable car system in the world, running over 8 kilometers from An Thoi port to Thom island, may be seen along the route if you look to the right.

Mong Tay, May Rut, or Dam Ngang islands may usually be reached by canoe in about 30 minutes, and by boat in approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. However, there are several benefits to using the boat instead of a canoe, including the freedom to take a lot of very gorgeous pictures.

11:00: Arrival to Hon Da Chong beach, which is at the end of Thom island, for swimming and diving to view the coral. As I previously mentioned, I visited Phu Quoc while it was still raining, so the group had to find a different location to swim and view the coral because the sea on May Rut and Dam Ngang islands was quite foggy, and the waves were large. You may still visit one of the other two islands typically if it's the dry season if the weather is nice. However, this location is also unbelievably stunning.

The group has an hour to participate in sports like swimming and scuba diving here. Those who don't enjoy diving might engage in fishing activities to view the coral.

12 :00: Everyone got on the boat, got dressed, and got ready to have lunch. Moving to Hon Mong Tay was beneficial for the ship as well.

13:00: The boat has just reached Mong Tay Island after a lengthy period of eating and drinking. The fact that it is rainy season prevents parking in front of Mong Tay Island's major beach, therefore the boat must park on the opposite side of the island; of course, there is a short walk to the beach. Small boats are dispatched from the ship to ferry passengers to the coast, so they may cross in 3 minutes to the main beach on the other side. This location is also quite lovely, and there are several unique rocks.

14h20: After more than one hour of watching, swinging, taking pictures, swimming, then everyone goes back to the other side to let the tour pick up the big ship and start moving back to Sao beach.

16h00: The boat returns to Sao beach. Small boats come out to welcome guests back to shore. The group plays, swims, takes pictures at Sao beach for about 1 hour.

In comparison to Hon Mong Tay, Bai Sao is known for its smooth, pure white sand. You are welcome to run, swim, and take photos on this more than 6-kilometer-long beach.

17:10: The group begins boarding the boat, and each guest is taken back to the hotel by the tour side in turn.

When visiting Phu Quoc today, you should also think about taking a one day tour of Mong Tay, May Rut or Dam Ngang islands. A tour that provides me with a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding topics I have never heard, experienced, or felt. I hope they will be helpful for your planned vacation to Phu Quoc.
