Photographers and lovers of the outdoors will find Lai Chau to be one of the most alluring locations to "hunt" clouds. The finest view point in Lai Chau is at Long Ty Phung peak, which is above Linh Ung pagoda and is reachable from the turn to Nung Nang. Threeland Travel will show you why you should be travelling to Lai Chau.

Although while the distance from the city center to the peak of Long Ty Phung is just slightly more than 3 kilometers, not everyone has the grace to do so. It's a pastime that demands dedication and effort.

A Buddha statue can be found on Long Ty Phung Peak, which is more than 1,100 meters high and faces the city. Lai Chau is so beautiful that it is said that anyone who visits without ascending Long Ty Phung has not fully experienced its splendor. On the peak of Long Ty Phung, the clouds are truly "fascinating."

About six in the morning, the sun emerged from behind Pu Ta Leng peak, illuminating the brilliantly white sea of clouds. The sun resembles a vibrant red ball rolling around on a cloudy field, floating on a cloudy sea, and playing freely with the clouds like a kid in a bounce house at a theme park. The clouds may be blown up and blown, but they blow like cotton because they are very white, very thick, and porous.

Beneath the white, floating peak-filled clouds, which occasionally extend, we can make out the outline of a young metropolis that is still asleep. People are still moving slowly around the lake and in slow-moving autos in the early morning rhythm. Even the red and green traffic signals at the crossings and junctions don't appear to be moving quickly. The Thuy Son lake surface ripples, bird flocks chirp amid the forest canopy, and flower gardens blossom. Everyone are welcome... The reed arches on the mountainside wave in the breeze as though singing a never-ending tune.

The city awakens in the early morning hours, stretching out to welcome the new day in the dazzling dawn. Such overcast and bright days are an indication of the great weather in the city.

Lai Chau only experiences early clouds on sunny days, thus it's critical that there have been rainy days in advance. The next day, even though it's sunny, there are no clouds since it doesn't rain and is dry. Hence, even a skilled cloud hunter does not always succeed. Often, you need to ascend Long Ty Phung several times before you find a decent cloud just once. The sun is shining brilliantly, there are few clouds, and it's a lovely day. On other days, clouds rise from the valley, but the clouds in the sky are too big and heavy, blocking the light and making the images appear dull and ugly.

As long as you can get through your morning grogginess, Lai Chau may be used to seek clouds in any season. You should pack enough photographic and video equipment to leave early in the morning if it rained severely a few days ago, but the forecast is for bright and potentially gloomy conditions the following day. You require more warm clothing, caps, and towels throughout the winter.

It's not dull to watch the clouds move in front of you as you take in the view of the city hidden behind the early morning clouds and the thin clouds chasing one other. Sometimes, as we observe the clouds bursting into each valley and swooping between the low peaks just in front of us, we think that raspberries are still vanishing.

You are invited to travel to Lai Chau if you enjoy hunting for clouds. With all the pleasant warmth of the high mountains, Lai Chau will greet you. And I sincerely hope you would search for Long Ty Phung clouds, bring your entire being to appreciate Lai Chau's unique beauty at dawn, and grow to like the tranquil, young city at the foot of Pu Ta Leng mountain.
