The processing period for a Vietnam visa applied for directly at an Embassy is 7 to 10 working days, provided that all required papers are contained.

According to the website, the visa application process is straightforward, consisting of four steps.

  • 1. Complete the online application form. Make sure that the fields for Name, Passport Number, Date of Birth, Gender, and Nationality are correct and match those in your passport.
  • 2. Recheck your information. Then, using a major credit card service like Visa, MasterCard, or American Express, pay VND 571,650 for a single-entry visa and VND 1,143,300 for multiple-entry visas.
  • 3. Your Visa Request will be received by Vietnamese officials and processed promptly. You will get an email confirmation with an approval letter within two business days. You must print and take this letter with you.
  • 4. Upon arriving at one of Vietnam's three international airports - Hanoi, Go Chi Minh City, or Danang - you must present your printed permission letter, two passport-sized (4x6 cm) pictures, and the appropriate charge. The visa acceptance letter is a document that permits you to enter and depart Vietnam for a specified amount of time.
