What to do: Discover Hoi An in 24 hours - Vietnam travel guide

A brief schedule but still full of destinations for you to start a full day tour around the ancient town of Hoi An.

6:00: Go for a walk in the city

This is a great time to explore Hoi An. The main streets include Tran Phu Street with the Japanese Covered Bridge at the end of street; and Nguyen Thai Hoc and Bach Dang Street with many small lovely alleys.

8:30: Enjoy Cao Lau, Quang noodles

One of the most famous Hoi An Culinary is Cao Lau, Quang noodles, soy milk and white rose dumplings. These delicacies are available in the market of Hoi An at an agreeable price of about VND20.000.

9:00: Get a new tailored dress, or a new pair of shoes

Near Hoi An's market, the clothing stores begin to open. There are various dress styles and fabric. You can have a new tailored dress with less than VND200.000 or a pair of stylish Alibaba for under VND100.000. After ordering dresses, please visit shoes store and get a pair of sandals for the price of VND250.000. You can have them within a day.
While shopping, you can also visit a number of old houses and shops in the city. Hoi An is often sunny so remember to bring a hat and sunscreen.



12:00: Time for lunch

You can opt for rice with grilled chicken at Ba Minh or Ba Buoi restaurant on Phan Chu Trinh Street; or choose a street food like a delicious barbecue noodle. There is sweet corn soup, sweet bean soup or soy milk for dessert. The restaurant is often crowded and you will have to wait a little bit.

13:30: Leisurely cafe

You could relax with a cup of tea or coffee and a small cake in a roadside café style, and watch the life of the local people. And if you want to mingle with them, turn into a small alley and you can find a petite café that is waiting for you.

15:30: Cycling at Cua Dai beach

It only takes VND25.000 to rent a bike and about 20 minute riding, you will reach Cua Dai beach to relax with the waves and the cool water here.

18:00: Enjoy fresh seafood on the beach

Right on the beach, there are many popular restaurants with reasonable prices. The fresh seafood including crab, squid, sea fish, shrimp...

20:30: Back to Hoi An city at the night

After 20 minutes of riding, you come back to the city. Hoi An at night is lightened up with a different and fanciful shape. You can go to night market, which sells a lot of specialties and colorful lanterns. Price ranges from VND40.000 or more for a small lamp.

23:00: Enjoy moon, catch the wind, and listen to music on the Hoai River

At this late, all homes have closed the door, only yellow lights flicker. Come to the end of Hoai River, near the Japanese Covered Bridge, get on a small boat - a cute coffee shop indeed, listen to music, drink beer and watch the moon hanging on the rivers. Shop will be closed at 24:00.

24:00: Get home-away-from-home.

After a joyful day with non-stop activities, you can back to the hotel and relax overnight. Hoi An at night will be cold, remember to bring a towel or a thin jacket for the night.
