Ben Tre River

DETAILED DESCRIPTION:

Within a day tour, many visitors will love to drive to Tayninh firstly to join the mass at midday, then return to Cu Chi tunnel on the way back to Saigon to study a difficult part of Vietnam contemporary history.

 

Pick-up at hotel by the tourguide and driver. Our day will begin with a visit to Tayninh - the center of Caodaism, a local sect of Buddhism founded by a Vietnamese countryman in early 20th century.

 

Arriving at noontime, we will have the chance to join the daily solemn ceremony at the temple of Cao Dai called “Tayninh Holysee”. On the way back to Saigon, we will stop at Cu Chi Tunnels, one of the few remaining monuments to the fierce Vietnam War. A lot of exhibits and real evidence here will tell us about the conditions of the war, and we can even crawl a part of the tunnel to experience the real life of the Vietnamese guerrillas, who used to survive and use this system during the wartime.

 

Lunch in Tayninh or en route. Return to Saigon late afternoon. End of our service.

Mekong River

DETAILED DESCRIPTION:

Day 1: Saigon – Cai Be – Home stay in Vinh Long (L,D)
Check-out hotel to be transferred by your tour guide and driver to Cai Be town, about 160km southwest of Saigon. On the way we can enjoy some typical farming works on the rice fields, depending on each crop.

 

Upon arrival at Cai Be, take a cruise on Tien Giang River to Binh Hoa Phuoc Island to visit the rice-paper making and rice crisp family factories of the Mekong people, and then take a short walk to visit a Coconut Candy factory. You can find how to make the candy and have some products from local people here as a lovely gift to your friends or relatives. Go on via a small canal to visit an Ancient House of over 100 years and take a walk along the village roads, we will have a good impression of the house décor of the Mekong people and the way they worship ancestors in normal life. Take a boat trip to a local typical house and take a walk in a guava garden before enjoying traditional music “don ca tai tu” in the garden.

 

Lunch at local restaurant between visits. Late afternoon we can go biking around to visit the island by ourselves, or discover the neighborhood and intermingle with the local people. Dinner at the local house where we will stay overnight. Overnight home stay (at Vinh Long).

 

Day 2: Vinh Long – Saigon (B,L)
After a local breakfast, take our leisure time to discover the village, say goodbye to the owner and take a boat back to our car. Visit a very exciting floating market in Vinh Long on the way back to Saigon. Lunch en route. Arrive in Saigon in the afternoon.
