The Directorate for Roads of Vietnam (DRVN) has announced plans to issue a Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia cross-border road vehicle transport permit.
According to local news report, easing regulations for cross-border transport would encourage tourism between the three neighboring countries.
Under the plan, licensed vehicles will be able to transport tourists and cargo between the three countries.
A policy to grant a 30-day visa exemption for foreign passport holders visiting Phu Quoc Island, off the coast of the southern province of Kien Giang, has been effective since 10 March.

The island located off the southwest tip of Vietnam is very close to the Cambodian border and visited by cruise ships on their way to Hong Kong.
Visa exemption is also applicable to foreigners, who are in transit at an international border gate in Vietnam (including by air or by sea) and are heading for Phu Quoc Island.
The visa policy is expected to transform the destination into a national and international hi-end holiday spot. One of the targets is long-stay visitors, wealthy Chinese who are keen to own second homes in neighboring countries.
Vietjet inaugurate its twenty-second route between Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and the resort city of Dalat. The new route by the low cost carrier will help promoting the National Tourism Year Dalat- Central Highlands.
The mountainous resort city of Dalat will be the centre of Vietnam promotional campaign in 2014 thanks to the organization of the “National Tourism Year 2014 – Central Highlands – Dalat” with the theme “Mountains and Forests of Central Highlands”. The National Tourism Year 2014 is due to include 45 major events, including 13 events directed by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Another ten events and seven tours will be organized by Lam Dong Province including cultural tours, nature discoveries and sports tours. Special events including festivals will also be organized all across the year including the spring festival of Pleiku City (Gia Lai Province), Bana’s rong house festival in Kon Tum Province, Buon Don elephant race in Dak Lak Province, tourism week of discovering waterfalls in Dak Nong. At the end of last year, Dalat already celebrated its 120th anniversary.
Air China will launch services linking Beijing and Yangon, while adding a Chengdu-Kunming-Yangon flight starting later this month.

Scheduled to launch 30 March, the airline will operate four weekly flights on the Beijing-Yangon route, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday using a B737-800.
The outbound flight, CA715, will depart from Beijing at 1930 and arrive in Yangon at 2250. The return flight, CA716, will depart from Yangon at 2350 local time and arrive in Beijing at 0550 Beijing time.
For Chengdu-Kunming-Yangon route, the airline will operate a daily service with A320s.
